Sharon Van Etten, tot i que el seu nom suggereix descendència neerlandesa, és una cantautora nascuda a NJ, Estats Units, el 1981. Des que el 2008 es va donar a conèixer amb un disc autoeditat de títol homònim, no ha parat de confeccionar folk i poesia exquisides. Entre el reguitzell de temes de 'Tramp' (2012, Jagjaguwar), es troba aquest "Magic Chords". El vídeo, molt pretenciós no s'entèn (algu sí?), però la música, la seva veu i la lírica són magnífiques.
